Want to have fun and make new friends? Fancy a workout for the brain? KChub’s monthly quiz could be just the thing for you!
"I’m really enjoying running our monthly community quiz at KChub and I hope that it will both grow and evolve over time to become a popular, ever-present social focal point within Kidbrooke."
Steve Keegan used to be a regular at the local pub quiz back in his native Scotland, but when he moved down south he never dreamed he’d end up as quiz master.
“It happened just by chance to be honest,” says Steve, “but I really enjoy it. Creating a good quiz is like inventing a recipe for a tasty dish. You need the right ingredients of course, but it’s really about the amount of each ingredient. So, I have my subjects, like general knowledge, sport, music etc, but then I mix them together with a sprinkling of easy questions, a dash of medium ones, and then finally a pinch of hard questions to separate the winning team from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed teams. It’s essentially about getting that recipe right, with a good balance of the different flavours creating something that everyone appreciates.”
The KChub community quiz runs on the last Tuesday of every month from 7-9pm. To give you a flavour of what's in store, Steve has set two special brain teasers for readers of this month's newsletter. The first two readers to send us BOTH correct answers will each receive a free copy of Hello Mum, by local author, Booker Prize winner Bernardine Evaristo.
