GCDA is launching a crowdfunding campaign to transform its new hub in central Greenwich into a vibrant community space that will be open to all.

The unit (based on the ground floor of the Old Police Station redevelopment on Royal Hill) is currently an empty shell, but the £10,000 crowdfunder will help turn it into a fully accessible classroom, training kitchen, shop, café area and office. Work is already underway. GCDA staff have been helping to prep and paint the walls and Flower Skills which helps young people prepare for work in the construction industry) has been on site contributing to the build too.

Claire Pritchard CEO of GCDA says:

"GCDA supports people in the community to realise their true potential. We have always wanted to ensure that our main hub is open to everyone, and the move from our industrial unit in Norman Road will mean that we can achieve that goal. We hope to raise £10,000 towards the costs of fitting out the new hub through our crowdfunding campaign. We need everything – from plaster and paint to kitchen units, retail shelving and accessible toilets. We know that times are extremely tough for people, but even a few pounds will help us make a real difference. In addition, if you have any useful practical skills, then we’d love to hear from you too. We appreciate every contribution.”
